Promotional Evening
Falkirk Twinning is holding a promotional evening in the Municipal Buildings, Falkirk starting at 6.30pm on Tuesday 17 June.
Representatives from the Odenwald and Creteil will be there as well as a range of groups promoting the attractions of Falkirk and area. Everyone with an interest in twinning is welcome to attend.

Visit from the Odenwald
A group of around 35 visitors from the Odenwald and surrounding area will visit Falkirk and tour Scotland from 7 June to 20 June.

The group, led by Karl Heinz Loeb, will be accommodated at Stirling University.

There will be a Scottish social evening for the group in the Park Hotel, Falkirk, commencing at 7.30pm.

Some members of the group will also attend the Falkirk Twinning promotional evening.

This visit is the latest in a series and occurs every two years.

World Wrestling Championships
Two members of Denny Wrestling Club have accepted an invitation to take part in the World Graeco-Roman Wresting Championships in Creteil in August.

Ex-servicemen
Three representatives of Les Anciens Combattants of Creteil will attend the 2003 Falkirk Festival of Remembrance on Saturday 15 November and also pay homage at local Cenotaph ceremonies that weekend.

Odenwald Scottish Week
The local Council in the Odenwald plan to hold a Scottish Week at the end of August 2004, with the co-operation of their local businesses. Airth Highland Games representatives, who visited the Odenwald in 2002, will be helping with the programme of Scottish events. It is hoped that Falkirk area businesses will also have an opportunity to sell their wares.

The ‘French’ House
Since 1990 Falkirk District Twinning Association have rented a house from Falkirk Council for the accommodation of students – initially from Creteil. Since that date over 200 students have stayed there and the locals now refer to it as ‘The French House’.

There are three French students there at the moment. Two students from the Odenwald area will arrive in July and we will have more French visitors in August.
