Falkirk Twinning played a role in the Falkirk Food Festival held between 4-13 June and organised by the enterprising Falkirk Town Centre Management team. With the help of our French counterparts in Creteil, we obtained the services of a guest chef, M. Coupeau, who was accompanied by his wife on the visit to Falkirk.
During their stay they prepared French food in local establishments, including a tasty Boeuf Bourgignon in the Rialto Bar, as well as giving a cooking demonstration to shoppers in Callendar Square. All of the produce was purchased from local shops and the French market which was in town that week.
Two students from Creteil, who had worked on student placements in the area, also returned to help, acting as French 'ambassadors' during the Food festival.
