Twinning Festival

Celebrations of the Falkirk Council area’s twinning links with Creteil and the Odenwald will be held from 4 to 7 July.


Odenwald BandOn Friday, July 4, visitors from Creteil, near Paris and the Odenwald region of Germany will be welcomed with a civic reception marking the 10th, 25th and 30th anniversaries of the twinning links with the former Falkirk District and Central Regional Councils and Falkirk Council.

Musicians and dancers from the Odenwald and a hip hop dancers and break dancers from Creteil will join local music makers including the Junior Gaelic Choir, Falkirk Folk Club, the Urban Tonkerers, the Grangemouth Air Cadet Pipe Band, Jennifer Marjoriebanks Sunny Stars, and the Jenkins School of Highland Dance on Saturday 5 July in the town centres.

Beer will be on sale from the Odenwald, and there will be French Food tasting as well as a caricaturist and face painting.

Many successful links have been established through twinning involving schools, Forth Valley College, local, sports and young people's groups.
